St. John the Baptist Nursery School is situated on the Garvaghy Road, Portadown and has been in operation since 1975.  The majority of children who attend the school come from the neighbouring housing developments however, a few children come from the Lurgan, Dungannon and Maghery areas. 

There are 52 children attending the school who are enrolled for a full day, 9.15 am – 1.45 pm.  A snack and a midday meal are provided which are important elements of the daily routine, helping to develop social skills. 

Children are divided into 2 separate class groups however, all children have access to 1 large learning area, including an extremely well resourced and organised outdoor play area.  This provision ensures that children receive a balanced daily programme through their interaction in a wide range of activities and with all staff and other children.
